Our Approach
THE PRACTICE is a twice monthly, donation based somatic workshop for men who want to better understand their nervous system, emotions, and mental health through direct experience.
This live online workshop offers an accessible entry point into somatic awareness and men’s emotional intelligence. Sessions are grounded in nervous system education and informed by somatic experiencing principles, emotional regulation, and relational men’s work. The emphasis is on slowing down, noticing internal experience, and understanding how survival responses shape stress, connection, and leadership.
Each 75 minute session includes a brief teaching, a guided somatic practice, and optional group exploration. There is no preparation required, and sharing is always optional. Men are welcome to participate at their own pace, whether through reflection, listening, or direct engagement.
THE PRACTICE is designed for men who are curious about stress, burnout, shutdown, emotional reactivity, and the mind body connection. It is not therapy, but an educational and experiential space that supports mental health, emotional awareness, and nervous system regulation.
All proceeds support SHIFT Foundation, which provides grants for male teachers, counselors, therapists, youth mentors, and community leaders to attend leadership and mentorship programs at SHIFT Men’s Retreats.
In 2026, our goal is to fund two full grants for community leaders to attend the retreat and deepen their leadership and mentorship capacity.
